Private Lessons All Year Round

Students in voice learn proper and healthy vocal technique through singing warm-ups and solo repertoire of the student's choice with the teacher's guidance in selection.  Learning music theory and sight-singing are an integral part of this.  Voice students should have a pencil, large 3 ring binder for keeping music selections in with blank paper for assignments and a cassette tape for recording accompaniments at every lesson.

Students in piano learn basic keyboard skills adding on music theory and technique through a piano lesson book series.  Solo repertoire is supplemented by the teacher.  Piano students should have a little assignment notebook, pencil and lesson books at lessons.  Piano students must have some form of piano or keyboard to practice at home.  An electric keyboard is fine for beginners.

Call or email to schedule a weekly lesson time.

Payment Policy & Cancellations/Holidays

Weekly private lessons must be paid at least one week in advance.  This helps to ensure student attendance.  It is preferred that lessons are paid by the month.  Cancellations by students will not receive refunds. Any teacher cancellation may have payment rolled to the next lesson date.

There are no lessons when the North Adams Public School District or your own school district is closed for inclimate weather or has early release for the same reason.  Regular school holidays and no-school days may have lessons if planned in advance.  Lessons are offered all summer.

Ensemble Participation & Refunds Policy

Being in an ensemble is like being a member of a team sport, therefore no more than two absences from rehearsals are allowed in order to be eligible to participate in a performance.  Attending a rehearsal means being there for the whole time, on time with a pencil and any script, sheet music or materials that have been distributed. Ensemble tuition refunds are given prorated within the first two rehearsals. After the second rehearsal tuition refunds are not given.
